<SPA란?>
The SPA Committee에서 주관하는 SPA (Speaking Proficiency Assessment) General Test는 실제 비즈니스 현장에서의 영어사용능력을 평가하기 위한 실무 중심 형 영어구술능력평가 시험입니다.
SPA General Test 전문평가위원과 응시자가 종합적인 평가요소 별 출제기준에 의해 문제은행 방식으로 추출되는 질문과 대답을 주고 받는 인터뷰 방식으로 시험이 진행되므로 응시자는 보다 자연스러운 영어 사용 환경 속에서 자신의 영어구술능력을 측정할 수 있게 됩니다.
평가자체가 원어민과 나누는 실제 대화방식이므로 컴퓨터를 통해 진행되는 평가방식과 달리 응시자가 실제 생활 속에서 어떠한 수준의 영어를 상황에 맞게 사용할 수 있는지가 평가위원의 평가과정 속에서 정확하고 자연스럽게 나타나게 됩니다.
SPA General Test는 발음(Pronunciation), 청취력과 답변내용(Listening Comprehension &Response), 어휘사용능력(Vocabulary), 문장구성능력(Grammar &Structure),언어구사능력(Overall Fluency) 등 종합적인 영어 활용 능력을 영역별로 측정하게 되며, 응시자의 영역별 강약점 분석을 통해 향후 영어구술능력 향상을 위해 필요한 부분들도 함께 제시하게 됩니다.

| Basic [Level 1] | 0~15 | 처음 영어를 접하는 수준이며, 레벨로 표시하기 어려운 단계. Speaker makes no attempt to respond. Speaker at the basic level lacks the English communication skills necessary to respond to questioning and/or may not comprehend what is being asked. |
| Low Intermediate [Level 2] | 16~24 | 영어로 간단한 인사와 자기 소개 정도를 할 수 있으며, 5W1H의 대답이 가능한 단계. Speaker is able to give one-word or short-phrase responses to the 5W1H questions. Speaker may not fully comprehend all questions and respond to an unrelated topic. |
| Intermediate [Level 3] | 25~34 | 간단한 생활영어가 가능하며, 발음과 문법에 초점을 맞추어 대화를 하는 단계. Speaker is able to communicate basic ideas within limited contexts, but is unable to sufficiently support an opinion or statement. The majority of speaker's responses contain habitual grammatical, vocabulary and/or pronunciation errors. |
| Upper Intermediate [Level 4] | 35~49 | 생활영어에 대한 전반적인 주제에 대해 대화가 가능하지만, 문법적 오류가 있는 단계. Speaker is able to communicate basic ideas across a wide range of general conversational topics. Speaker is occasionally able to provide some elaboration, but responses still contain frequent grammatical, vocabulary and/or pronunciation errors. |
| Low Business [Level 5] | 50~64 | 비즈니스 회화가 가능하나, 심도 있는 언어 표현은 부족한 단계. Speaker is able to express general ideas successfully but with limited elaboration. Speaker may lack the vocabulary and complex grammatical structures necessary to deliver in-depth responses with accuracy. |
| Business [Level 6] | 65~74 | 비즈니스의 다양한 상황에 따른 Formal 한 회화를 구사할 수 있는 단계. Speaker is highly intelligible and able to express ideas and elaborate on responses effectively. Speaker may occasionally use imprecise vocabulary, grammar and/or pronunciation, but these errors do not hinder general comprehensibility. |
| Advanced [Level 7] | 75~84 | Native와는 구분이 되지만 회화에 대해 어려움이 전혀 없는 단계. Speaker's proficiency approaches the native level. Speaker delivers well-developed responses and explanations. At the advanced level, the speaker's use of imprecise vocabulary, grammar and/or pronunciation is rare and negligible. |
| Native [Level 8] | 85~96 | Native Speaker 및 영어가 모국어인 교포 수준의 영어회화 단계. Speaker's proficiency is equivalent to that of a native speaker. Speaker demonstrates complete control of language and freedom of expression. |
